Born In The USA. Really because it was a mood changer at the time because it gave people hope with it's content.
although not my personal favorite, Dark Side of the moon.....
Beach Boys Pet Sounds. Paul McCartney himself said that without that album, he and Lennon would have never pushed their own limits to make Sgt. Pepper.
i can honestly say that pink floyd bored me to tears:nod:
nothing there that shook me either, that's why I'll stick with my Marillion, Yes, Genesis
ah, the grunge era? what about the progressive rock era of the 70s???Are we talking most influential for me personally? Or for the music industry as a whole? Because I would have completely different answers depending on what the scope of the question is.
For myself personally, I have to go with Smashing Pumpkins - Melon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. For the music industry, Nirvana - Nevermind... while it wasn't their best album, it was the most influential. It broke a completely different sound into the mainstream and sparked a musical revolution the likes of which hadn't been seen in decades.
there was some awful powerful jazz rock fusion in the 70's led by cats like miles davis, herbie hancock, freddie hubbard, john mclaughlin and roland kirk, to name just a few.ah, the grunge era? what about the progressive rock era of the 70s???
Hmmm, this a tough one. I think I will do it by each decade.
50s - Elvis Presley - Elvis Presley
60s - The Velvet Underground and Nico - The Velvet Underground and Nico
70s - David Bowie - The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars
80s - The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses
90s - Oasis - Definately Maybe
Still too early really to say with music from the last decade.
