Kind of concerned- gas stove related!!!

I noticed the flame on my stove was burning yellow. It always burns blue.

It's got me more than a little curious as to what's up and why. Google is not comforting me any- says I should disconnect the appliance and call the gas guys.

Thoughts? Anyone familiar with gas stoves? Should I cut off the heat since it's gas also?

I did just put a paste of baking soda in the oven to eat at the grime and turned the oven on. Maybe it's a reaction?

How though? I've had that one on all almost day with no problems. It's got my "humidifier" pot on it. It's on all the burners. The oven has always looked yellow to me, so I couldn't tell if that's any different.

Should I call it in as emergency maintenance? Wait a while and see if it fixes? Or just call maintenance tomorrow?

I saw that one too, Thorny, but I am terrified of fire, and the thought of messing with the stove is just too much. There's a lot I don't mind getting hands on with, but big explosions.... Well, big unexpected explosions... not my thing.

It's back to burning blue. I wonder if maybe there were fumes from the water/baking soda interacting with it? Or maybe someone else further up the line did something.

Sounds like it wasn't getting enough air to the flame

Makes me wonder how many times that's happened that I haven't seen since I have that pot on for hours a day...
