What a perfect day to wrap presents!

It is snowing in Nashville! Snow is basically unheard of here until January or February. Granted, it is only a slight dusting. We may get an inch or two max. However, that should be enough to get me out of school tomorrow since yesterdays rain turned to a thick sheet of ice underneath the white stuff. I am definitely not going to try driving in it. Instead I am just going to play some holiday music, wrap presents, watch the snow, and let the Christmas spirit take over!

The weather here in Nova Scotia is not so bad compared to other winters, there's a slight dusting of snow on the ground but nothing serious. I plan on spending the day pretty much like I spend any other Sunday, enjoying some 'me' time...BUT...unlike any other ordinary Sunday, today I'll be playing some holiday music, maybe turn on the tube and watch some christmas shows AND, thanks to you doll.....I'll be wrapping some presents...lol

It's a lot milder today round me, compared to last weeks temperatures, so I've been on amazon buying my books for next term, and drinking white russians.

Milder here too. I didn't even need my gloves when I went for the morning papers. I'd say snood but I'm not that wild. The snow might be back this week though.

I haven't even started my Christmas shopping yet. I'm thinking I'll get it done next week or so. I want to get the finals and papers out of the way first, then think about the holidays.

I live a couple hours from Boomerang and I have about 4-5 inches at my house right now.

Sometimes they do. However, this time the roads are crazy icy. My husband tried to go to work this morning but ended up in a neighbors ditch. I am not complaining though. It didn't hurt his truck and now he is at home with me for the day.

There are so many schools in Nashville that it takes hours for the buses to run all their routes. The elementary, middle, and high schools all let out at different times so the bus routes are staggered. One year when I was in high school they were late calling schools out for the snow. It came down quickly and before you knew it there were 7 inches on the ground. It may not sound like a lot to you, but I had never seen so much snow in my life. It took hours and hours for people to get home if they got home at all. Needless to say, parents were angry. Although it was several years ago, people still remember it.

So yes, the mere threat of snow will sometimes be enough to close schools now. However, after that fiasco, I can understand why.

Yeah. This year we have 4 built in. If we don't lose them we just lost them. That has been the case for many years. Last year we went over and had to make some up. It was terrible. Rather than just add a couple of days at the end of the year, they added 30 minutes onto every day. I didn't get out of school until about 4:40 each day. Blah!
