Well Known
my work just phoned to say that we're gonna have a Christmas party this Sunday, and am I free.

Yes, says I...where, when how etc?

Its AT WORK in the BBQ area....bring your own food and drink:mad:thumbdown

They have a total of 5 staff and are too lousy to shout a Chrissy barby.

STILL have heard no more about my payrise, so I shall be asking again Thursday, and if its not the answer I want I am quitting and going to Sydney for Xmas...

Rant over...as you were:mad

I guess that wouldn't bother me. With having such a small group its easier each just bring something. Now if it was a larger group I'd totally say have it catered because it would be a mess/pain to clean up after.

Besides...it's the thought that counts right? Not them dishing out the money for everyone to eat and drink right?

'sides maybe they have a bigger surprise so they need to save the money??? Bonus maybe? lol

No Scrooge here...lol ;)

bring your own food? that's a Christmas party? might as well stay home LOL

I am:)

Cammy if I didn't know you I wouldn't believe it. What a bunch of idiots.

Stingy ones at that.

With such a small group, they could have bought a bit of seafood and a couple of cartons of beer, but they are too lousy.

I could understand "bring a plate" but not ALL your own stuff.
You may have missed my thread about my asking for a payrise after they used me last time they went away...then you would probably understand more why, for me, this is the last straw.

or ordered pizza

I wouldn't even bother asking again, to be honest. I'd just go in and say y'all said such and such x days ago. Hasn't happened. Sorry, but I can't be bothered anymore. I'm done.

Believe me...I'm tempted....but the money will come in handy up until Chrissy......and (yeah, I'm evil)...If I end up quitting, its going to be RIGHT ON Christmas...ie, the week before.;)

Well, if you put in your two weeks' before the week's end, that works out just about perfectly.

Or do y'all not do that over there?

Only if your full time...I'm casual, so I can give em an hours notice if I want.:cool

Now you see why I shall wait until the last minute....;)

'Cause they didn't put you full time? And you're rubbing it in? :D

That....and the daughter who is always off galavanting on holidays that I manage for, would have to work the whole holidays herself.

Found out ALSO today...they havent paid any money into our Superannuation funds since we started.

Thats illegal. They've been told it all has to be paid up by Friday.

HA..maybe thats why we have to pay for our own party:24:

That sucks. :( You were so excited about this job when you started.

I know:( How quickly things change. I 'm KICKING myself I didnt apply at the Porpoise Pool, although I a going to go in there and leave my Resume after Christmas if things dont pan out at work.

My good friend still works there (Porpoise Pool) so I have a leg in that way...plus...theres heaps of waitressing/bar jobs in peak tourist season here...I'm not really worried...just p'd off with myself for letting them use me.:mad

Well, how were you to know when you started? I can sympathize. I was in almost the exact same situation two years ago.
