Is there any validity to this?

IMPORTANT:This whole changing thing about your profile picture to your favorite cartoon character thing was actually created by a group of pedophiles, because if children see pictures of cartoons they will add them, it was currently on the program of Internet frauds and will apparently be on tvsome time tonight, put this as your stat...us to warn people and change your profile pictures back.

some might have a better knowledge than I do...
 
well i did change mine but i also posted why i changed it. It was to bring awareness to child abuse and your right tomorrow is it. everyone can change their profile pic back.

How bloody ridiculous. For one...children that are of an age to be influenced by pretty cartoon pics or whatever shouldnt even BE on FB in the first place, and if they are....then its up to their "parents" to watch/filter who they come into contact with.



Not saying its NOT true, nothing would surprise me...but it honestly makes no sense.

ha! i *knew* the cartoon character profile pic thing was suss... like HOW on earth does a cartoon pic help child abuse... rumour has it, the group that started the "change your pic" rant, is a bunch of paedophiles... mind you, that sounds like bullshit too...! why do we sheep just bleet and go along with this stoopid stuff...? 93% of us changed our pix, coz clearly 93% of us are tards...!!!

It doesnt help with child abuse...same as making your profile pic pink or posting a pink ribbon, doesnt help with breast cancer...its to raise awareness...


So according to your friends reasoning...anyone who has ever changed their profile pic for any "cause" is a "tard":)

I don't really get why everyone thinks this is supposed to be about it actually DOING something about child abuse. That's not the point. It's to raise awareness. It's no different than statuses that go around giving info about autism, or breast cancer or anything else like that. But somehow, just because this one involves changing your profile picture, it's the dumbest most pointless thing on the planet. People don't always see everyone's status update. But if they see a bunch of their friends randomly changed their profile pic to a cartoon character, they're going to ask questions.


It doesn't hurt to spread awareness. And I don't really see how this whole bs rumour about it being started by pedophiles even came to be..like..really? *facepalm*

just say retard ffs... no offense but why shorten it? people get too sensitive over the word. It's all in how you use it. many words have different connotations nowadays.

I love this craze of fear against Facebook... If you don't like something, call it paedophilia even if you don't back it up or show proof.. People will jump up the bandwagon and jump up and down in hysteria..

First of all, how can changing your picture give any pedophile any clue, you as an adult have anything they want..

Are you posting any nude picture of your kids on Facebook or leaving your profile totally open for all to see ?

All a Pedo has to do to know, if you are stupid enough to leave stuff open, is look and see if you are a parent ( Children ).. If your setting are closed they will see very little and if they are your friend they will see everything anyway..

I suspect all this is, is nothing more then a smear campaign, from one group towards another..
