The report is the latest in a series of audits looking at prison inmates claiming tax credits and other government payments. It notes that the IRS identified nearly 250,000 fraudulent tax returns during the 2010 filing season -- a 50 percent increase over 2009 -- preventing $1.48 billion in fraudulent refunds.

Hey we're already in trouble why not do one better?! UGH Some people never learn. I can't wait to find out the final numbers on this to see how many were actual fraudulent refunds.

does this ancient mariner of the information ocean espy a flotilla of obscure news enthusiasts?

i was already in a fabulous mood after a week of feeling shitty and not complaining about it a whole lot.

if my eyes are not deceiving me because of some false hope that came springing out of the depths of some race memory deeply embedded somewhere in my atrociously inbred levite jeans, and this is just an illusion, let me just say, thank you for such a lovely page to see when my browser resolved my request to display this forum's current top page.

it has been a long time since i have seen a page in a forum anywhere where there was nothing displeasing or offensive to my sensibilities. pardon me while i go lay some rep around and take a peek at my feeds to see what you trawlers may like.

i just got off the phone with mom. they're 82 and are going to be somewhere in south bama for Q1 2011. i haven't asked and she hasn't said. in the cycle of the lifelong angst between me and my father, he is currently not talking to me. no biggy, we all love each other, just sometimes have a tough time getting along. time and distance work well for my family and have since i was old enough to even be a part of the drama beyond another mouth to feed and body to clothe.

anyway, before i ramble too far in the wrong direction, i've noticed a whole passle of fisherman schooling around here and especially AUFred posting under a bama logo. she was almost crying when she told me my father would like me to ask you folks if there is someone who will get him out on the water while they're there.

i warn you. he can go seven days a week, from dawn to dusk casting his plugs into bass holes and he's one of the best that still lives. my pop knows where the lunkers live and how to get them to strike at anything. he can coax a ten pound largemouth into a net in under 10 minutes on ultralight tackle.

when i was much younger, we took that ultralight tackle on a drift boat out of miami. when we boarded, the mate called him a polack. withing an hour of watching the three of us catching so much on the ultralights, everybody else was wanting to know if the boat had any like that for them to use because they were getting skunked with their boat rods and 4/0 or bigger reels because they couldn't get their bait shallow enough for where the fish were feeding. we were creaming everything in sight with spinner baits called raiders that my dad's tournament partner made.

so if anybody thinks they'd like to take my dad bass fishing or light tackle saltwater fishing you will definitely be giving our family's domestic tranquility a big shot in the arm. to now, i have nothing to regret that i have ever done to anybody and the only thing i can foresee ever regretting is to have my father die without ever finding his peace with me.

if anybody would do this, it would really help prevent that from happening.

thank you

happy day

peace

I didn't read anything in your post that has to do with this topic. Post your off topic stuff in the post whore topic if you want to talk about stuff not pertaining to topics.

sorry about that, it was my first post after a much longer than usual time between visits anywhere.

things have been so incredible so far this holiday already i was gushing a little. it was the whole page i saw first after returning from taking a bunch of time off from some battlefields and more than usual from the internet. there are times that it can look like i never sleep if you don't watch my time stamps closely.

anything you might ever see me write bad about posters or forums in general, is not likely to be about anybody who's a member here. i'm pretty confident i haven't caused more than mild irritation in anybody and even the worst responses i've received didn't

i'll save future gushers for threads i author and keep my replies as brief in others as the conversations merit..

sorry about that and on this topic, in the 80's when i was going to jail for things like tossing a cigarette butt on the ground, walking my dog without a leash. she's a sentry hound, they don't need leashes and i could turn her or her offspring straight around with a whistle at 200 yards.

but that's slightly too close to losing the topic, which if i'm correct, is the hustles and actual lifestyles of some of the inmates.

i never got past any county jail system in the country so i only have hearsay tales of the longterm inmates and their perks, but i have actually met and had fairly long talks with inmates at that level who get busted on purpose because it's easier to hustle on the inside than the outside. lots of these guys just hustle commissary or cleaning, grooming or sexual services. i have a lot of sympathy for guys like that because i've lived with the street side of it up close and personal all my life.

was that better? again sorry about that, it was one of those overjoyed moments that caused a brain dump.

In Canada prisoners that are of retirement age still get their Canada Pension while they are in the slammer. That just came to light a few months ago and the gov't in power is introducing legislation to eliminate that perk. With any luck we'll see that pass in say... 5 - 10 years.

Well if you ask me maybe if our prisons and jails were a lot less comfortable they might think twice before doing something like that...
This is such a very true comment that you made. I work at a prison and in my experience we are way too easy on these guys. At least now we are. Hell they took most of our weapons away from us because of excessive use of force! Lol Huh? whats that? Lol

please forgive me for not actually reading the article on this, but did it say something about federal benefits being paid to state inmates?

guys i've listened to not only had theirs cut off within 90 days if they were lucky because social security took back anything they received on the inside when they got out.

has something changed i should be paying closer attention to?

I see nothing wrong with making them suffer in the prison facilities. They shouldn't get everything they do in there. Maybe not just bread and water but maybe throw in some spinach with the bread and water so they get some veggies. Oh and make it the nasty canned stuff lol.
