It was not told to me specifically but rather in a thread in general.

Who was it, your guess is as good as mine but it caught my attention, so it could ( note the could ) have been someone like Tim or Veronica way back when.. It was not a huge amount stated but rather a noted point thanks that should appear in your tokenz, showing that you did report a valid spammer.. 15 tokens I believe.

To me the thought was a great one as it would certainly show if you were wasting time and or helping mods.. I don't want to keep reporting posts if I start to think I am being a bother more then a help.. :)

i really do think your old photos looked kinda gangsta and the new face hair do is much more becoming.

as for being in need of a little trimming up, that was really a challenge to both of us and any other studly studs who have a little extra adipose tissue.

i'm a lot older than you, bro and i'm 50 pounds overweight after a long illness and now i feel sick from being too heavy.

i meant no disrespect by anything that was in that post and i'm sorry you took it that way.

For clarification purposes, Dana was not the one who reported that post...so he has no clue what you're talking about. This thread was not made to hash out everyone's differences...take it to PM if you'd like to do that, thanks.
 
I remember a few of us...NOT ME:cool repeatedly reporting some spam for the few measly tokenz, and getting into trouble.:smiley24:

and then Pete said he got minus something tokenz:24:

For the sake of clarification... you get tokenz every time that you post or create a thread. Now, the way that the reporting mod works, assuming you guys use the same one that I do, it creates a thread in a designated private forum once it is reported. So, since it is creating a thread, you get tokenz for it. Now, if y'all aren't using the same mod or a similar one, and it's sending PMs to the moderator assigned to that particular forum, then it shouldn't give or subtract tokenz. The other possibility is that the currency mod is set to award tokenz for reporting a post, but that's fairly unlikely.

You are correct...it makes a thread and, as we respond to it, it adds more tokenz to your total just like any other thread would. ;)

reporting isnt a bother if youre calling out a spammer or bad behavior, its always a help :)

do the mods mind if non mods occasionally ask folk to stay on topic or take there arguments to PM ?

i recently did that in the blasphemy joke thread, and thought about it and i can see how that can be perceived as a non mod pushing their weight around, just that the alternative is to
a. do nothing
b. report the post which can in my mind overburden the mods with trivial things when they might be better off dealing with serious infraction type material

personally i dont think i ever reported anything except for obvious spam, i prefer to ignore or deal with the issue directly via PM

I've warned people if they kept it up a Mod might come along and ban/infract them.

If its your thread, you have full control and if people don't stay on topic after you've asked, they can get in troubles :D
 
If you make it clear that a mod might come along and take more action then yeah that would be fine and indeed can be helpful. But again don't be afraid to report posts people, I'm not sure about the other mods but I'd rather have five reported posts to deal with than have 5 petty arguments in different threads.
