Somewhat Known
Hey everyone, I know, this thread will probably only get like 20 views and 4 posts, but I can't help but post my ideas and thoughts.

Anyways, for the past 4 years now, I've been thinking...
Where do we go from here after we die?

It's like, some people say we go to "Heaven", others say we become ghosts or spirits that walk the earth, and then some, they say we are reincarnated...

I'm not really sure what to believe (due to I am Agnostic), so really, I'm open-minded on what others tell me... I just wish I could have 100% proving sign that tells me where we go in the end...

Some may say the the Bible & God and all that is the real sign of where we go or what to believe, but, if you look at religion, the bible and all that says we are from one main man/woman, God.

And, if we are all from this superior person, then we are all related, which in the end, brings up that we are all dating our family.... whatever, anyways, people have their own beliefs and ideas, I just wish I knew what mine was...

What do all of you believe when it comes to the "End Of Our Time"?

reincarnation

we are a mixture of atoms, molecules tyhat are currently in the current human form, once this form expires we become something else, maybe some of my current being goes to the new form that wil become a dog and maybe the rest will become a camel

constant flow of matter

Very colorful post, ATKU2. :)

If wrapping your brain around a God is way too much to do or handle..... Try just having Faith.

Faith can cover just about anything. Faith in the Sun for its light and warmth. Faith in the Earth for its ability to feed us. Faith in your fellow man/woman to offer friendship and love. Faith that there is something after death if that helps get you through this life.

See? Faith.

My personal thought on it...
Is that I'm sure there is a "God"... yet... I don't see eye to eye on his ideas unlike most religious people of that nature...

Like, I don't really see a point in the bible... cause my thought is: As long as you behave yourself, and don't try to become a person of an "Evil" aura, then I don't see why he wouldn't love you... or anything like that, ya know?

As for me, if I were to be under that religious basis, I know exactly where I'm going... It's not a good place to go, but I'm not a good person either...

The one thing I believe in is this, when it comes to religious aspects of life:
"If you are of an evil aura... then you deserve to live and die into the dark abyss..."

In all seriousness...

"It's the choices we make that determine where we go from here, who we will become... and how we will live..."

That's pretty much it in a nutshell, if you live by wrong choices, then you shouldn't get anything you want or live in a happy place...
But, if you live with a good heart, and try your best not to be "evil" or well, "disrespectful, ect" around others, then you deserve more than you have already...

The topic is very intriguing to say the least. As for me, I do believe in a higher power as do many (I don't wish to say most as that may not be the case). I was once a strict Christian, but since have kind of decided I'm not certain. Basically I guess one could say my faith has been lacking a bit. I still believe there is a higher power, a Great Creator, if you will, and that in the end, those who are good people and seek out that One (I refer to said entity as a Him, btw but I'm trying not to step on any toes here). I do believe in Jesus having come and died for our sins as well, but I refuse to believe that He would allow people to either spend eternity in a limbo or some fiery Hell simply for not believing that the Son of God had come down to Earth as a human man and died for their sins, so I suppose my focus wouldn't be on Jesus so much as God.

In the end though, I'd like to think that yes there is a sort of Heaven, or paradise waiting out there for the souls of the good/righteous.

That being said, I do also find the concept of Buddhism to be quite intriguing as well, with the whole concept of reincarnation and all. I admit to not having been well-versed in the practice, but it's very intriguing and I believe the end goal is to become a greater person and achieve spiritual 'enlightenment'.

So bottom line, way I see it it doesn't hurt to be a good person, give thanks, and don't totally reject the possibly of there being a Supreme Being. It can be humbling at times, and even scary, but it never hurts to humble oneself and consider.

My apologies for the lengthy post!! Everyone is entitled to his or her own belief. This is simply mine.

It's not about whether or not you're a good person. Hell, I've done a lot of stuff that I really shouldn't do. I know it's a running joke, but there's some truth to that picture going around saying "If I don't sin, then Jesus died on the cross for nothing." We all make mistakes, we all make bad choices. But the point is supposed to be that you can ask for forgiveness, and as long as you BELIEVE Jesus did that for you, then you're going to Heaven. When you get there, you have to give an account of what you did in your life and you get rewards for the good things, and lose rewards for the bad things.

I don't mean to get preachy, so I apologize if that's how it sounded. Just trying to make a point.

All in all, from what I think is that:

The Demonic (Evil/Bad) will fall
The Angelic (Good) will rise

Thats probably what I'm thinking... but really, we are all different, so, when we do die, then we will see what really happens...
The only thing that creeps me out really is that fact that maybe once we die, we just black-out, forget everything, and turn into nothingness, that is the only idea that creeps me out...

Agreed completely.

With that being said, I'm sure I'm going to hell. (if there is one) =) Might as well have some fun on the way....

I once asked a priest this question about the afterlife and he said his faith makes him want to believe in the here after; but his skeptic side said if we lived with the notion that nothing would happen we all would be doing such evil religion would not be able to survive. the reason he joined the priesthood he said was because he truly believes that there was a man named Jesus Christ.

That is indeed a scary thought- the idea that we're here for a short time then turn to nothingness. Either way, even if our soul does carry on, I believe our consciousness of this life is lost. (although there are those with claims of memories/dreams/experiences of 'past lives'.) One way or another we're here in this life/form just this once. After this we move on in some form or another, be it to nothingness or something greater (or lesser), so we may as well make the best of our time here, which I guess may sound a bit ironic coming from a guy on forums!

I was recently told that we as humans are here to love, be loved, and bring Heaven to Earth or Earth to Heaven depending on how one looks at it. I firmly believe that.

Perfectly stated. :clap

I like to think our lives here are like school. If we learn all we're supposed to, we ascend up the spiritual ladder. If not, we try again. Until we get it right. Learning more each trip with our beloved ancestors and friends cheering us on as we rise up the rungs of the lessons to learn to the ultimate goal of rising to our Creator(s)

But that's just me.:cool
