The big freeze gripping the country will get worse this week, with snow spreading inland and some temperatures plunging as low as minus 20C, forecasters have warned. Skip related content



As well as disruption to the roads, schools were closed in many areas, including central Scotland and Yorkshire.

In Cornwall, 44 schools were closed because of the weather, with another 12 opening later, Cornwall Council said.

The cold spell saw record low temperatures in some parts of the country over the weekend, with both Wales and Northern Ireland recording the coldest November night since records began.

We got tons of snow and another blizzard coming tomorrow. But we have the snow equipment to handle it. The plows are working 24/7!

Darn, I wouldn't mind being snowed in and not able to work.....but, I am running low on library books, guess I'd better go tomorrow!

I live in Edinburgh, Scotland and its realllllyyyyyy bad here...Its about knee deep and thats only 3 days worth of snow and its never beeen this deep...its currently still snowing. All schools are closed and most small, back roads are undrivable....but its sooo pretty!
