sure did. i have some dear friends who have some magnificient papered clydesdales they would like to sell.

they own a carriage company and one of their stallions is getting up there and should really be retired.

there are a few young mares they'd part with and maybe one of the geldings. there's also a red belgian gelding, a thoroughbred mare rescue and a pony that the lady's husband and i would both like to see get other homes.

it's very expensive to maintain a herd and any that don't pull carriages or breed are a big drain on them.

if you are seriously interested, i would happily make the introduction. in any case, next post here, i'll bring some pix.

those clydes are really something. very expressive and friendly at the farm and like grim soldiers when they're in harness.

what do you do with them and what do the horses do for their owners besides eat a lot of costly feed and need expensive veterinary care?

the horses are new to me in just the past few years.

my family had dairy cattle and i'm more of a fish and dog guy.

i worked in the pet industry for a lot of years and i have never seen a domestic animal that costs so much to keep.

They are show horses. :D The horse in my siggy was US National Champion Futurity Colt last year. :cool He's a hot stud. :nod:

i'm a little disappointed. all those smilies and you don't have the one with the shyster doing the eyebrow lift. would have been much better than old joe cool.

there's one that looks like groucho marx with shifty eyes and both brows lifting. that's the one i thought would be fitting the remark about buying friendship.

that one you just posted just says 'skeptic' -- the one i was looking for says 'sleazeball'.
