SIERRA BLANCA, Texas – A U.S. Border Patrol spokesman says country singer Willie Nelson was charged with marijuana possession after 6 ounces was found aboard his tour bus in Texas.

Patrol spokesman Bill Brooks says the bus pulled into the Sierra Blanca, Texas, checkpoint about 9 a.m. Friday. Brooks says an officer smelled pot when a door was opened and a search turned up marijuana.

Brooks says the Hudspeth County sheriff was contacted and Nelson was among three people arrested.
Sheriff Arvin West didn't immediately return a phone message left at his home Friday, but he told the El Paso Times that Nelson claimed the marijuana was his. The singer was held briefly a $2,500 bond before being released.
Nelson spokeswoman Elaine Schock declined to comment when contacted via e-mail by The Associated Press.

You're joking, right?

Are there actually people still living on this planet that care if someone smokes weed? (Other than people who have a vested interest in keeping it illegal)
It's illegal to speed, fail to yield the right of way, don't stop at crosswalks, misuse prescription or over the counter drugs, etc. Maybe we should arrest all those types as well.

I can't speak for her but do I care if people smoke weed? nope! Should it stay illegal? Yup!
would you care to defend that position on the marijuana prohibition?

can you give one rational, constitutionally valid reason that marijuana should have ever even been made illegal?

can anybody here?

anybody know how to play google foo?

it is FAAAAAAR less dangerous than alchohol IMO. Actually I don't see how smoking pot is dangerous AT ALL.
we could go into that more deeply if you like.

heavy pot use over time isn't much less destructive to the lungs and trachea as tobacco and there are some risks associated with developing a psychological dependancy.

and quite frankly, really heavy pot smokers are useless turds like any other heavy drug or alcohol abusers.

but none of that is just cause to enact prohibition laws.

Why? Just out of curiosity. Feel free to PM me if you don't want your opinion to get blitzed or something. :D
I think part of marijuana's or any other drug's "mystique" is that it's illegal and hence forbidden, legalize it and you're taking away it's edge... But I guess that's just my opinion. But then again drinking is legal and people still do it to excess
