Useless mother in law

Wow, what a pathetic excuse for a grandmother... she spent both her daughters childhoods at the casino, letting my wife raise her little sister, and hasn't changed form much. Anytime she has a boyfriend (which varies about every 6 months or so) HE takes absolute precedence over my wife and daughter. (She can ignore me for the rest of my life and I'll be happy, I hate her guts). But my wife keeps hoping she'll change and be a part of our daughter's life more consistently, and keeps getting let down. Had a huge blow out last night and now it's back to another " dont' darken my doorstep" situation. Fine with me... but it hurts my wife to have her mom be such a shitty mom for her whole life and then turn around and be a shitty grandmother too... so stupid... and the guy she's all sprung over has broken up with her once already, by calling and TELLING HER OTHER DAUGHTER TO RELAY THE MESSAGE THAT HE DIDN'T THINK HE SHOULD SEE HER ANYMORE!!! What the fuck?!?! I dont' know... just venting... stupid bitch.:mad

Man, it's just so stupid, because instead of her just being like, "I'm so sorry, I'll try and do better" (which I wouldn't believe but still) she tries to throw mud at my wife to make herself look like some sort of victim... and then my sister in law tries to make it all about her because she's a self-centered whore too, and then HER boyfriend starts to get mouthy... it's just a huge deal... and so unnecessary.

Sometimes a mother who messes up with her own children.... can and does make it up with the grandchildren by doting on them and being a big influence in their lives..... Then there are the ones that don't care and can't be bothered with grandchildren....
let alone their adult children now.

Best to not get hopes up too high at this point based on how she's acting.

I can understand your wife wanting her to be a part of you daughter's life but really, when will enough be enough? There are TONS of people who will around for your daughter and while it's nice she know her own grandmother...obviously it's not going to be in the cards right now. And you don't want your daughter to be subject to any possible emotional and spiritual abuse. It's both of your roles as good parents to keep her from harms way.
