Sooo.... my hair was getting rather shaggy and I had the day off yesterday to take care of some personal stuff.
I was driving down the road and spotted a nice looking barber shop. I decided to pop in and get a trim.
I walked in and immediately realized that it was a barber shop that specialized in a black clientele. But, this being Atlanta, I figured I'd be OK. It was in midtown, so he had to have experience with all types.
I had a seat and said "It's been a while. Make it short, clean and neat."
When I say this in my usual barber shop, they know I'm after this:
So... the guys spins me around to face a wide-screen TV airing ESPN, grabs a pair of clippers and dives in. He's halfway thru when he turns me around to get to the other side and I see THIS instead:
:24:
I'm like "Holy shit! I said SHORT, not MILITARY!" The dude looked confused and baffled.
I'm not pissed off. It's hair and it'll grow back and I've got nothing important in the next 2-3 months like a wedding photo to sit for.
HOWEVER... a lesson to all men. "Short" means two ENTIRELY things to a white boy like me than it does to a brother in midtown ATL.
