Just a little note from me to you.....

so sadie, i've got a little befuddlement here. your old laptop fubarred and you've been gone for a while?

now you're back. are the computer problems solved or are you just back online sorta catch as catch can?

and sadie, you really do need to keep your laptop away from fluids of all kinds.

that means no posting from a bubble bath, while you're doing the dishes, washing clothes or watering the garden.

they definitely hate it when you spill drinks on them.

i just discovered a new no-no. don't leave your cell phone anywhere it can have prolonged exposure to high humidity. i got lucky. i didn't have to buy a whole new phone but i do have to take the battery out to charge it because of water damage to the input jack's connectors.

I broke the lcd screen in my old laptop and when I took it in to be repaired, they informed me that the motherboard had been cracked as well so there was no need in spending so much money fixing it when a new one would probably be cheaper.
My daughters laptop, the one I've been using as of late, had to be sent back to the company for repairs because the cd player wouldn't close. That was a couple of weeks ago and we still haven't received it even though it was supposed to have been sent back last saturday..who knows.
Right now, I'm on the old desktop which only works when it wants to, like an old man, no matter how hard you try, turning it on is unfortunately only luck related..lol. At the moment with Christmas on the way, bills to pay and a new grandson....money is a bit tight and even though I could buy myself one, I don't consider it a necessity right now, I can wait.

Sooooooooooo as you can plainly see, I did not drop it into my bubble bath...that scenario was somebody else's wet dream...lmbo

see how some people miss you on this forum:) don't wait until Christmas to buy your new laptop when somebody is there to lend you credit (without interest):)

old desktops will often run better if you crack them open and clean all the dust and dead bugs off the boards and the cable connectors.

you'll need a phillips screwdriver, a clean soft bristled brush and a can of air for the job. a long nose pliers might help get cables loose but don't use one unless you really need to because it's easier for you damage things with them than your fingers.

What is a phillips screwdriver? Is that the one with the x on top or the straight line one?

It's the one with the X head not the flat head. Get a can of compressed air and blow out the inside of the case. Makee sure that you unplug the computer 1st and hold down the on button to drain the electricty or you may get quite a sock if you touch anything in there by accident. ;)
