Ok, here's the deal. As some of you may already know, my laptop bit the dust a few months ago so I've been using my daughters off and on ever since, WELL...the DVD burner/CD player doesn't want to close, making it impossible for her to play her sims games and such...lol. Sooooooooooooo since the warranty with the store we purchased the laptop from has expired, the only option is to send it away to the company for repairs......which is what I'm about to do. To make a long story short, I won't be around for a bit, could be weeks.......I know, I know, most of you are totally distraught at the very idea....lol..but I'm certain you'll find a way to go on without me. To my new friends....I'll miss you. ​

Which Sims game is your daughter playing? Sims 3? Cause I am a big fan :D

And she could be able to play her game WITHOUT a CD. If you download "DEAMON tools light" (is completely free) and download a Mini Image of the Sims game (also free). You install DEAMON, mount the Mini Image and Ta-Da, your daughter will be able to play The Sims without the CD.

Not saying the CD/DVD driver doesn't have to be fixed, but this will come in handy when it is. Both the Driver and the game CD will have a longer life this way :)

You guys are all so sweet. I managed to log on to the desktop....but once I log off who knows..lol. Got an email from the company where we sent the laptop, apparently it's on its way back as we speak. Thanks for all the smiles...xxx

a bit of advice: avoid using your laptop while taking bubble baths In future ;)

First of all, it was my daighters laptop, I don't own one as of yet...lol..and second...the cd player wouldn't close all the way, and since it was still under warranty with the company, I felt it necessary to send it back to them for repair. It's already been sent home so it should be arriving any day now. Nobody is usually home during the day so they'll probably just leave a card in the mailbox letting us know where and when to pick it up.

Hmm.....I didn't know you were using your daughter's laptop.... don't you feel uncomfortable not having your own??
