same odds.....it was more of an appreciative reply from a bird lover
This is what I said in my first post to this thread.Your first reply:ninja Unless you have changed it already
That's a nice shot of an interesting bird.
I didn't notice anything else was in the picture. Considering I was looking at the bird I suppose that makes sense.
On a side note are you happy with what you did Ian?
We are getting to the bottom of what a critique is. Seems some people are having a hard time understanding a simple concept.umm whats going on in here? Do I need to put on my mod hat and say play nicely? Or remind some of you that if you have nothing nice to say mom always says just to keep your mouth shut!
i'm happy with whats there...yes
This is what I said in my first post to this thread.
First and foremost my comment was just that, a comment not a critique.
That said, apparently you have a very poor understanding of what a critique is so I'll endeavor to enlighten you.
To critique something means to find fault and that's always the direction you take. In your sly way you attempt to disguise it as a comment but we know what side of the fence you're really on and a critique it is.
Not everyone has the skill set you seem to think you have nor do they aspire to achieve it. Some people are quite happy doing what they do without any intentions of further advancement. I doubt Ian is in that category. However he sure as hell didn't invite anything from you. He's smart enough to figure it out and not afraid to ask advise if he feels he needs it. He's also smart enough to find a critique forum if that's what he's looking for.
If you still don't understand and require a formal definition of a critique I'll speed things up for you.... just click this link...

As an aside I will say you do take some impressive shots but rest assured there have been some I could have ripped apart as well but it's my personal opinion that this isn't the forum for it, hence I have refrained from doing it. This place is meant to be fun and uninvited actions such as your take that away on straw at a time.
Good... then anyone that doesn't like it should go fuck 'em-selves.
psst... when I look at it real close I can see where it was. It doesn't bother me one bit. At least you're learning at your own pace.
Hey, hold on, don't say I wanted to find faults with that photo, all I said it was a nice edit nothing more

Slow yourself down just a tad Tuffy. Take a deep breath and read this part of what I said and maybe you'll come to realize it's your past history with Ian and your tone.
to be honest mate,i'm my own worst critic.......i could actually rip this picture apart but,as i said earlier....this bird,as common as it is is hard to get a decent picture of because its pretty elusive and never stays still..in saying that i think that this is a decent picture even with my shopping attempt...it went down well on the photography place i go on anyway![]()
Birds are hard to shoot sometimes Ian. There aren't like people... they don't sit still. Never give up though. I have thousands of shots, many of them are real crappy but I always try and get a better one to replace them.
ok tuffy...i'll ask you some questions now
have you ever seen a long tailed tit?
did you know what one looked like?
did you get a picture of it?
and how long do you think i've been doing this photography thing?,consider my age in this
Lets see, I got interested in photography since 2003, got really into it since 2007, since then my interests has grown from sports to wildlife, wildlife to music and music to fashion, though I have many side interests. Because of these many side interests, I don't have the time to search for specific animals, just ones that I get lucky with. I am much technically adept than I was 3 years ago. So if you think that my remarks were in anyway disparaging, please do pm me. I don't want people having bad misconceptions of me. I am not a person who would start an argument willy nilly, though I do hold that right to defend myself when someone question me
no read my questions
I did
you didn't answer what i asked
And I said I did, if you read of what I have typed :thumbup
