RIYADH: Two Pakistani men were beheaded by the sword in Saudi Arabia on Friday after being convicted of rape, the interior ministry said.
The two were found guilty of storming the house of a foreign family and raping a woman before stealing her gold jewellery, mobile phone and some cash, the ministry said in a statement carried by the SPA state news agency.
They were executed in the capital. Their beheading brings to 21 the total number of executions reported in the Gulf kingdom this year.
In 2009, there were 67 reported executions in Saudi Arabia, compared with 102 in 2008.
Rape, murder, apostasy, armed robbery and drug trafficking are all punishable by death under the kingdom's strict interpretation of Islamic sharia law.

While I was reading the news I could note that, contrary to the general view about Sharia, no question, whatsoever, was raised on the foreign rape victim.

In Saudia,UAE and other emirates cases for crimes are decided very quickly-----because NO lawyer is allowed to fool around with 'word play' and 'delaying tactics' nor anyone can dare influence witnesses or distort evidence ...

Even for other offenses the laws are very strict and unsparing for everyone....

With punishments such as practiced in Saudia, I believe nobody would dare commit rape even in America!

FYI the Talibans too follow the Saudi creed and conduct immediate like punishments to Criminals!! This is the reason the crime rate in Afghanistan fell to around zero during their brief reign there...
However, on some counts, the Talibs were definitely brutal!
