took some trial and error to find out...my Philips VHS/DVD player/recorder would have been the ideal answer, as you would pop a tape on one side and a blank dvd on the other...BUT it wasn't reading my over 25 yr old videos I have and only newer tapes made, so I had to use a Toshiba stand alone VCR that I've had for over 10 years but hardly used and hooked up wires between the Philips and the Toshiba that I got through Amazon and have the Philips run through the TV on a special source channel that is for external devices and run it that way...sounds wordy I know...hooking up the wires was actually the easy part...it was finding the damn channel that it would be on, as it isn't channel 2 or 3 or 4 and you have to look for it...now I have over 13 bankers boxes of wrestling and tv shows I'm starting to trade with people...fun lil hobby I've had when I traded VHS to VHS in the 90's, except the quality is 10 times better when converting VHS to DVD...aweome stuff lol
