we had bought what we thought was a converter and it didn't work, it seems that it can be done but was rather painful in taking the time. but I have software to copy DVD's and am happy with that...

VERY painful in taking the time indeed...but I do it on weeknights during the work week when I got nothing going on and when it's horrible outside and there is nothing to do...and I can set it and forget it and just let it run...and early mornings and afternoons like now when i'm doing laundry and until I head out for awhile...but once it's on DVD, it takes just 8 minutes on my Nero program that came with a Plextor external drive that I bought off of Amazon...years ago, my father surpised me and bought me a computer...but he didn't know anything about computers to tell the sales rep what he wanted to have put on the comp, so he confused CD with DVD's and he got CD's, so I only was capable of listening and burning CD's not DVD's lol

I'm still learning tho...I want to try copying dual layer DVD's and learn how how to edit DVD's in case I fall asleep and overun on the VHS I'm copying and tape extra stuff on the DVD. Also would love to find a good program to do totally not legal stuff hahaha

The closer I get to it, the bigger it gets but I'm just not brave enough to get any closer and finish the job off.....
