No I don't think so at all, it's pretty logical. Our radio waves are well ahead of our exploration of our solar system and will be for quite some time I'd say, we've only made it as far as the moon, whereas right now our earliest broadcasts are beyond the edge of our solar system.
What if another civilization didn't ever use radio waves though? We wouldn't have anything to find if that was the case.
oh, and
ok then......people think aliens originate in outer space or mexico.....just to open this up a little,if there are indeed real UFO's,what if they originate from this planet.from deep in the ocean........or what if there are different dimensions and some species has found a way to open one up?
We keep getting UFO sightings over my town and every single time it's someone letting a candle balloon off, there's some gullible people around. I do find it interesting that apparently the year with the most UFO sightings was the same year that the X Files was at its peak of popularity, there was a surge of sightings in the 70s too, at the same time that Close Encounters was a big hit.

I watched a show, think it was UFO Files, where this large silent craft was followed by police for several counties half way across the state. Maybe that state was Illinois. They supposedly had some of the cops on the show. The problem as usual is, is this real or is it entertainment? I really need to see one for myself.
Then I can worry are they friendly or here to eat us? :0 We hope that advanced aliens would be "good", but there is no assurance of that. They might just want our planet for it's resources.

Aliens will never visit this planet. We'll go visit them. I'd like to meet these aliens, and challenge them to a series of tests and gauntlents and wars to affirm our place as the superior race in the universe.

UFO Files, when it was around, was probably the best UFO show out there, I think I've watched all of the episodes of it that have aired now. As far as I know, UFO Files wasn't created for entertainment purposes... that is, it's not faked, they interviewed real people about things that they really experienced, or real experts to comment.
That's always been my concern as well... you would hope that they'd be these benevolent beings... but in actuality, if they're anything like we've proven to be in our history that could be very far from the trough.
There's an interesting theory out there that if there are aliens out there, who are capable of building the technology to visit earth, they have probably already destroyed themselves.

Retro, do you think it would be more likely we'd be visited by unmanned craft?
I find it ironic that people are so keen to be visited by aliens from outerspace but want to kick out aliens from other countries.
I think it's very possible... actually, one theory is that the greys are artificial beings, androids if you will, sent by another civilization.
it would certainly make sense for them to use some kind of artificial lifeform to scope everything out. especially given the distances we're talking about.
Any thoughts on what their method of covering the vast distances of space are?
There was a really interesting episode of UFO files that explored that stuff... it was basically imagining the reverse engineering of an alien craft. One of the theories was a wormhole, effectively bending time and space and then making a hole through them. Anything is possible. Then there's the whole star trek theory of faster than light warp drive.
