:mad That's not really fair! :willy_nilly: I've always wanted to go to the Melbourne Cup. My goal in life used to be to run a horse in it but I don't think I'll ever be able to afford a racehorse. :ninja

I've been to the Golden Slipper which is part of Sydneys spring racing carnival, and I sat in the Members enclosure at Randwick on Melbourne cup day once with my dad...that was a blast.

I bet on every horse to win place or show at the Kentucky Derby once and didn't make much money. I still don't understand how that happened.

I have no idea...I presumed it was their number coz number 15 in the first pic has a 15 shaved into him.

As for your betting "scheme".....thats why the favourites are such short odds....you have to put a mountain of money on them to win, just to make it worth while.

:dunno North American racehorses don't have that.

I'll hazard a guess and say its just some form of ID. There was a big scandal here a few years back when one racehorse was replaced with another...The "FIne Cotton" affair.

I thought it would be a good idea. I didn't put much on each of them and I guess you just answered one of my questions...It was fun though!
