England once lost to USA in 1950, which shocked even the Americans i believe.

Not so much games from me but moments.

1998 final for example, the hottest player in the tournament, Ronaldo (no no not the winker, the fat one) had seizures on the day of the game and teammate Roberto Carlos thought he was dying (this is what I have, and it all came out after the game), anyway he played and he was rubbish. Brazil were too and they lost 3-0 to france.

2006 was notorious for the headbutt by Zidane to Materazzi. Allegedly Materazzi had made some derogatory remarks about Zidane's mother leading to him being headbutted in the chest. At first nobody really knew what had happened, but then the replays aired and Zidane, in his last ever game in football, was sent off. France went on to lose to Italy on penalties.

Just look for Italy, and you'll see them being knocked out by minnows in most competitions.
