Glad the Spanish won, how the dirty Dutch didn't get someone sent off until extra time, I'll never know! Felt sorry for Howard Webb, he tried to keep things calm and flowing and could have ruined the game by sending off everyone who deserved it, not his fault that half the players were behaving like spoilt 2 year olds.
Fun game to watch I though, lots of fouls, which was interesting.
The only dangerous foul was De Jongs really, a lot of fuss being made over nothing if you ask me. It is a contact sport after all.
Football was dire for the most part, as you'd expect considering the way the Spanish bog the play down without ever commiting forward.

The Dutch looked very negative and defensive to me, only had the odd chance on the break, the better team definately won, wouldn't have been deserved if it went to penalties and the Dutch had nicked it.
They were both uncommitted. Spain only wanted to pass the ball about in the middle third, and the Dutch wanted to let them.

It was an appalling match, not much football played, just a whole lot of dirtiness. I do think Spain deserved to win and the atmosphere here is absolutely electric!
It would have been terrible though if this Dutch team managed to achieve something the 1970s Total football sides failed to do.

If you take out the Catalan's and Basques out of the spanish team, they lose a hell of a lot of decent players!
