The World Cup Thread

As I was saying to Cammy, Football ( Soccer ) in Canada is extremely popular for kids.. It's getting to the point where you cannot get your kids in to a team unless you start them in diapers and never take them out. In fact it is out pacing hockeys where I am by a large margin and the fields are growing daily and often filled with teams or kids.. Watch out world, our FIFA team is going to make it soon.,. :D

thats because you give a group of kids a football and they can have a game.....with ice hockey, american football etc you need specialised equipment

I just heard that FIFA are deciding tomorrow whether Tim Cahill gets a one match ban or TWO!!!!:willy_nilly:

Even the Germans reckon it was only a yellow card offense...I thought they were debating whether or not to DOWN grade his red card....not UPgrade it.

You can SEE him try and pull out of the tackle...even his German opponent expressed his disappointment to Tim after the game.:(

Oh...and Pim Verbeek needs sacking. Bring back Guus.:thumbup

ahh...some understanding needed here

cahill was already on a yellow......if its deemed a yellow card offence it means he would have recieved a red with a 1 match ban......the ref saw it as a straight red with no yellow which carries a 2 match ban

AAH...didnt realise he was already on yellow....fair enough.. What game was that from?

and if he was already on a yellow, doesnt the ref hold up the yellow card again first, then the red to signify its his 2nd yellow? I only saw the red.

Disregard that last bit...just re read your post.

No ads on this channel. SBS is the "international" channel..and its great they havent lost the viewing rights to the bis commercial networks.

They show 99% of the football (soccer) games.
