Is it a lot more fashionable to be a lesbian?

I think in some cases (and NOT all) but especially with the younger kids, it's trendy to be gay or bi. I think it's either an attention thing or a fitting in thing. My high school, especially the band kids, was getting more and more gay every year. The younger kids seemed to be more often than not.

I'll admit that I'm openly Bisexual and leaning towards men more and personally I wouldn't be too bothered if it was fashionable or not. It's just the way you want to be as it's your choice. I think it's more easier for women to be attracted to other women than it is for men, as men tend to be more homophobic than women in my opinion.

It's fashionable to be who you want to be whether that be straight, gay or lesbian.

I think it's more noticeable in our world today because not so many people are hiding it anymore as opposed to before. People would live their whole life hiding the fact that they were gay or lesbian or they would live their lives in secrecy.

There seems to exist in todays society, a portion of that society that just thinks "I must be fashionable", they will jump onto any new thing to prove they are fashionable, and among these types there are some who go in for same sex relationships because they believe it is fashionable.

Many of my collegues are lesbians and having had many discussions over the years I get the impression that they generally despise these types because their insincere attitudes are eroding the true nature of lesbians. They would like us to understand that lesbians are simply girls who have a loving affinity for other girls as opposed to society's norm of male / female relationships. It is not about sex but love, and like hetrosexuals, their love is for life and unconditional, at least that's the intention when they get involved in a serious relationship.

Also many I have chatted with seem to really dislike bisexual women, and it is because these bisexuals try to pick up lesbians for sex, but don't want a lasting relationship with them, thereby treating those lesbians as if they were just there to provide sexual services to satisfy their bisexuality.

And in case it matters, I am hetero to the Nth degree. I just have no prejudices when it comes to friends / collegues, and I believe that if you have gay friends, you should make the same effort to understand them as you do to understand your hetrosexual friends.

I don't think for a second that is the real reason people tend to dislike bisexuals more than lesbians or gay men. I think it's a bullshit cover up reason, simply because... straight men/women do the same thing.

Treating the opposite gender like they were/are there just to provide sexual services to satisfy their sexuality

I think most people dislike lesbians, gay men, and bisexuals because of their freedom and acceptance of who they are and who want to be.... where as the homophobic feel trapped in their own skin.
