You wouldn't believe the people who look at me like "oh, you poor thing" and respond "Oh, you'll change your mind when you meet the right man." It's all I can do not to roll my eyes and say "yanno, it IS okay for a woman not to want to have children...we CAN do more than stay barefoot and pregnant." I know they don't mean any harm by it, but I knew in elementary school that I never wanted kids...it's not going to change.
That's not to say I would never date a man who has his own kids...but I don't want any of my own.

It honestly takes a special kind of person to "Want" kids. Some who deserve families never get the chance... Many who could care less.. carelessly destroy the emotions of those they were blessed with. I may joke with those whom have decided not to have children, but I certainly respect their decision to withhold... no matter how good of a parent I think they would be.
And for the record Cod... I think Moonie and PS are right.
To all you who did dip into mother hood... Happy Mothers day:

I will never forget the power this line from the Crow held for me. It certainly hit a chord in me that makes me appreciate almost more than anything else the simple power that a mother's love contains:
" Mother is the name for God on the lips and hearts of all children. "
