Stellar Jay & A Hummer

Another skitterish bird that's hard to get close to...



I bolted my 1.4x tc to the 70 - 200mm and shot this @ ISO1600 again. It had been raining prior and it's still overcast but not as bad as yesterday. A bit of light makes a lot of difference. Now where's the full sunshine I need?

Thanks AA. Too bad it's at ISO1600. Would have been a hell of a lot better around 200. That's the spot my camera really likes.

Generally the males are quite a bit brighter than the females but to be sure once I id the bird it's easy to find examples of either sex on the net.

I also use this site a lot and am usually successful at least from a starting point. http://identify.whatbird.com/mwg/_/0/attrs.aspx
