i just loaded ubuntu on my laptop tonight and am getting my first taste of a world without microsoft in 25 years.

i had a weak moment and almost installed windows when the firefox locked up but relented when it booted back up and was behaving.

Ubuntu is a good OS, though my pet hate is trying to install new software on the command line, just pure frustration it is, I would have that as a back up for my internet needs, but I love Windows 7, just too good

The new Ubuntu has a Software Loader.. My pet peeve with it is that they have yet to load all the big software packages into it yet.. So when you search for a Software to install it may come up empty..

However it does work fantastic when it does have it loaded..

This works great on my main PC..

I pull out my hard drive with Windows and Swap it with Ubuntu.. I can run anyone without using only 1/2 drive ( dual boot ) on my system.. Take a second to shut down and swap dives again and its like I had never taken Windows out.. :D
