:mad:mad:mad:thumbdown

Took the boy and his mate to town today, stopped to get some cash, and my pay wasnt in....

NEVER in over 2 years has it been late and of course I had no petrol, no money for admission to the Jungle Gym, and no phone on me:willy_nilly:

luckily, my friend I was meeting came to the rescue and loaned me some money.

Rang work, and its a "Head Office" problem....and will be in 'tomorrow or the next day"

If its not in tomorrow....they will be paying the dishonour fees for my bills that are supposed to come out.

End Bitch/moan session

That happened to me on Thursday! :willy_nilly: Kinda odd that it was April Fool's Day too. But for some reason our cheques didn't get deposited. I had some extra in my account for rent and such but my one co-worker would have been screwed. Fortunately, the farm had cheques written out for us by noon so we still got paid that day. I never heard why the direct deposit stuff didn't work. I don't know if it was just for us farm folk or if the whole company was affected.

I have an "emergency" account....but I dont like touching that unless its absolutely necessary.

I've phoned my bank, and they're gonna make a note re the direct credits so I dont get penalised if it isnt in there tomorrow.

I say "No pay. No stay." The same as the employers, "No show. No dough!"

Damn them!!!

Well, its the whole company....so Australia wide.....wonder if Management got theres though.;)

I'm willing to bet the H.O payroll person had Monday off, instead of coming in to do the payroll...coz its always gone after Easter weekend before with no delay.

I've only been using direct deposit for a few weeks now, and haven't had that problem yet. I must say, it is quite a nifty idea, I hardly, if ever, have to go to the bank anymore.

Direct deposit has worked great for me for years now. I'd be lost without it! Can't say that I ever had a problem with it.

Tracey, you don't know how lucky you are your pay will be only a few days late. Try 3 months - my mom is still waiting for her pay for January.

That would suck but I am glad you are smart enuf to have some supplemental cash. I can't BELIEVE the people here at work. I've loaned money to several friends over the years and I'm only mid-managment, my hubby only works PT right now and he pays child support and we have two vehicles and a motorcyles. I don't work OT. The people I loan to are usually two income families who work OT massively.

How do people live from paycheck to paycheck when they make a good living (work for the gvmt)? I mean things happen to people, financially, medically, emergencies, THAT I understand, but when you have a steady good income why do people live OVER their means????

Okay, Hart steps off her soapbox...... ;)

Always wondered when you guys say you pick up your "check", do you actually mean you pick up a check (cheque) that you have to then take and deposit to your bank account? I've certainly never been paid like that before. Always had the money deposited into my account. Never had a problem either.......touch wood (ooer)

Direct Deposit Rocks! The last few places that I have worked they MAKE YOU use direct deposit for payroll. The only "live" check you get is your first one. Of course that's fine because I've been doing direct deposit for 10 years now but some people get pissed about it.

I've got direct deposit. So far, so good.

I rarely go inside my credit union these days.

I use my ATM card to get cash once a week .... mainly for gas and blow money. I know people who use their ATM cards as Debit/Credit cards and are shocked at the end of the week by the purchases they've accumulated without giving money a thought. And yet... they keep on doing it.

That's why I like the cash allowance I give myself. Once it starts getting low..... I start slowing down on my spending.

Oh...... and this topic is about the company not making the deposit. That really is bad for their reputation. If I had any bills that needed paying and the money wasn't there.... I'd make them pay for any fees incurred. Well.... I'd ask them to anyway.
