Seeing that I'll be learning in a year or so, I just want to see how you guys learned to drive.

Mom says she prefers to teach my older brother how to drive before he takes his driver's test

First, my parents taught me the basics. After about a year of practice, I took drivers education during the summer when I was 17 or so. At the end of Driver's Ed, the instructor took us all to do our road test, and I passed the first time.

It's important you take Driver's Ed, so you know how to do everything "by the book".

I started driving a tractor on the farm when I was about 6 with full permission from the parents. I didn't get to drive a car until I was 8. :( I didn't get permission to drive it that day. :24: I sorta borrowed it along with my cousin cuz we wanted to go to town. :D He worked the pedals and I operated the steering wheel along with the shift lever. We made it there and back in one piece only to have the living shit beat out of us.......... but it was worth every smack of the belt. :24:

I went to Hank Haney's with my bro and hit balls until I was exhausted or out of beer.
I still have a unbelievable hook but I can knock the shit outta the ball.

Take the stress out of it..
Drivers Ed is the best.. No family and no arguments..

That was my route..

Later in life I added defensives driving classes as well..

OH Jessica I was a horrible driver. My mom didn't drive and she was divorced. She wanted me to drive horribly, beings she didn't.

I took Driver's Ed right after my birthday, in the Summer. When I got in the car I asked which was the gas and which was the brake.

Funny, how the instructor wouldn't take me out in traffic much.

Then I drove a car my mom bought me $350 with her in it. She didn't know how to drive but she was older if a cop saw us.

I did pass on my first try. But when I think back how bad a driver I was at 16.....I shudder...LOL

At age 16 it was all fun tho!
