The Olympics are the best of amateur sport :D
Basketball and Hockey not included:p

which makes me wonder why we have professional hockey/basketball players on the Olympic teams....sometimes it takes away from the meaning of these games....wonder how the non-pro kids are feeling about this...in fact back in 1992 one of my high school friends received an invite to try out for the USA hockey team, needless to say he got cut...

Also, from my understanding, they're using NHL sized ice, not the typical international sized rink. It's really makes me wonder about the current heads of IOC.
A co-worker of mine will be dancing (Native) for the opening ceremonies.
I was able to take part in the opening ceremonies for the 1988 Winter Olympic games in Calgary, it was about one of the most memorable times in my life.
I just kept telling him not to be nervous with 3 billion people watching him :D

It just proves that women are suckers for men in uniform.
They were pretty cool dudes besides the fact they kept picking everyone up, literally. every time someone got introduced (including me) the massage therapist picked everyone up and cracked their backs.
Crazy Russians.

Naw, they were from Russia, the "new" Russia.
And the chicks were literally crawling out of the woodwork to be around them
Like I say, this was just the coaching staff. not the actually athletes.
One of my supervisors claims her husband was a former Olympic ski jumper, which is why they came to work for supper, I call bullshit, she's just that kind of woman.
Although it didn't occur to me to ask her his name so I could google that shit.
