last night on the NHL network they showed Calgary's winning of the Cup in 1989....too bad it could flash to today

In the regular season they were decent but not GREAT. They made the playoffs as the sixth seed. They had their mojo going in the playoffs, though. It was epic. I will never forget it. I don't remember much from '89.

Yeah, they won game 5 in TB in OT to go up 3-2 in the series. I KNEW they had the Cup won then because they were in Calgary for game 6. Oh the horror of that game. TB won it in double OT and then there was the epic fail of game 7. The thing is, Gelinas scored to make it 3-2 Flames in the third in game 6...but nobody knew so it went to OT. Don't know if you heard about that or not.

When Lanny scored to make it 4-2 in game 6 my Dad leaped up out of his chair and cheered. My Dad NEVER cheers for goals and such. I remember jumping around like a crazy 12 year old myself.
