After Calgarys 4-0 Loss,I'm taking a break from the Flames for a while.
I'm tired of wasting 2.5 hours every odd night on a team that refuses to do anything.

The Flames have, 19 games remaining I do believe (Could be wrong) out of those 19 games we have to win at least 15 of them.
I seriously don't see that happening.
If they don't make the play-ffs or bow out first round of the play-offs, I see the Sutter clan having to pack up and find work else where.

I actually don't mind the idea of B.Sutter staying on as coach, but D.Sutter has to go i believe
Ever since he has taken over as GM, we have consistently been without any sort of identity.
Some of the core players have changed, we have had goalies changes, etc.
He has been the only constant since the 2004 cup run.
(Oh and that useless bastard Conroy has to go)

 Most non-Canadians hate our hockey team. :D

No, that's an erroneous Canadian assumption; particularly since oh captain my captain was the reason yinz guys won it. That was bittersweet. Country before captain always, but if someone had to do it to us, I'm glad it was Sid. I don't think he was getting out of Canada alive if he hadn't scored that goal.

Now...

Asplain to me how a team can get 55 shots to the other's measley 16 and still only win by the skin of their nuts in OVERTIME! Gah! WTF Pens!? A win is a win...but kill me why don't you?

I think most would want to win simply to win a gold for their country. While it is kind of a big deal to win against the country where hockey is its national sport, it's more in the spirit of beating a good team than a hatred of it and wanting it to fall.

I think for the US getting as far as they did was such a big deal because no one, particularly the so-called sports experts even expected us to medal let alone be the first seed throughout the entire tournament. In that respect, it would have been a big deal to win it all...likewise, it would have been a huge deal to Canadians for them to lose on their home ice...but not because they hate the US...if that makes sense...or maybe they do I dunno! HAHA!

Oh and pleased to meet you! :D

you have a point us losing would have been tragic because we were on home ice and we believe it is our game, losing to anyone under these circumstances would have been hard to bear, the pressure on the Canadians was immense, as i expect it will be on the Russians in Sochi, I am not sure I agree that you guys were not expected to medal, you have a great young talent pool that show great chemistry - friends and colleagues praised the Russian team as being the team to beat, yet they never showed the chemistry that is necessary to do well, the Americans did and they should be proud of their accomplishemnt, Ryan Miller was and still is IMHO the best goalie in the NHL....

I think it was the fact that the US team was so young and going up against teams with such depth like Russia, Canada, Sweden (wtf happened there?), and even the Czechs that the so-called experts didn't see the potential. But if history has showed us anything, sometimes a bunch of younger players can really pull it together! As an aside though, I won't compare that to the miracle on ice. I had to laugh that that comparison was made. While the US team was young, they were still all professionals from the NHL. The "miracle" US team was nothing but amateurs going against a professional team...THAT was a miracle. What the current US team did was great but not exactly a miracle. ;)

I have to admit, it was really a weird thing seeing the captain from the team that I've absolutely adored for years score the goal against the US team. Of course I was rooting for the US to win but it was sort of like disappointment with a consolation prize. I don't know how to explain it. Although admittedly, seeing Ryan Miller's face while he was getting the silver medal made me want to just give him a hug. :( He did play his balls off though and I was very proud of 'em! :)

So a Sens fan, eh? Pittsburghers will argue (and rightfully so) that the best games to watch are when we play the Flyers, Crapitals, and Rangers...but man o'day I love when we play the Sens...I think that's why I was even kinda bummed to see Danny Heatley leave your team.

The US showed what speed can do. It can be quite an equalizer.

Speed, being physical, and of course, consistent goal tending.

Admittedly though, I would have liked to have seen Fleury in net for the first game Canada played just to give him some ice time. Then again, if he performed like he did last night... :thumbdown

yeah the attempted comparsions with the Lake Placid team were laughable, that was a different time and a totally different circumstance - as for the Swedes, they, like the Russians never gelled as a team and came up agianst a Slovakian team that did just that. I have much respect for the Penguins, mainly as Mario is an idol of mine

nice chatting with you, i always respect a fan who knows her Hockey - seems you do...you have any Canadian blood in you? ;)

Mario is like a god in this town...er...tahn! Aside from what he's done on the ice, he's done so much for the community off of it and his business savvy and the people he surrounds himself with are just remarkable really. I met him once during a networking/charity event and I have to say, I was absolutely speechless. I'm not normally one to be star struck because let's face it...they are just people with cool jobs. BUT, I have to admit standing there being introduced to him, I lost my ability to think and speak at the same time...lol Aside from the fact he's done all of these great things he's absolutely stunningly handsome and really tall. At 5'3" I felt like a little hobbit or something and the image of Wayne and Garth dropping to their knees yelling, "I'M NOT WORTHY" just kept going through my head. Something eventually squeaked out of my mouth, but I don't recall what it was. :p

Back atcha! I do loves me some hockey but no Canadian blood...grew up kinda close-ish to the border and I have never met a Canadian I didn't like! :)

The first seed was Russia. :D
Team positioning didn't change for this tournament.
Truthfully no one expected the US to get where they were, but it was expected of them to medal.
It's a bigger deal Russia fell apart like they did. More so then the Americans making it to the gold medal game. Everyone was expecting it to be Canada Vs Russia for gold, and then the US battling for bronze with one of the other Euro teams.
Ron Wilson and Ryan Miller did a heck of a job getting them the gold medal game.
Now the Fins beating the Slovaks...that was a helluva surprise given Kippers total and utter cave in with the Yanks.
And let's not forget the ladies awesome win too.
