There is no sure way of knowing but the most reliable method of guessing I've found is...

If the man is the oldest, it's more likely to be a boy
If the woman is the oldest, its more likely to be a girl

This chance increases with a bigger age gap between partners.

I didn't say it was a garuntee, just that it improves those chances.

i found that to be true in most my friends too though - like if it's high it's a boy, and if it's low it's a girl...

Then again, there's always genetic testing. The Mrs. doc ordered a test due to her age and we knew without a doubt the gender. Just count the chromasomes.

There were tests at the time that indicated you were a tiny bit more likely to have a daughter if you were physically very fit, and both mine were from a time I was very fit.

It worked the opposite for me. From the back, you would never have known I was pregnant. I still looked like I had a waist, the curvy sides.

But I definitely carried either gender different from the other.
