Late afternoon we were looking out the living room windows and there were 2 beauties nibbling on the property.... the pictures were taken from inside the house ...... had to block the flash with a finger.... they aren't the greatest pictures.... but I had to share what I see right outside my windows! :D

Apparently you are not alone with that thought......

I dread November 15th each year..... I forget what day it is.... until the shots ring out right as the sun rises.... :eek :(

I've got 10 acres where the deer are safe... so long as they hunker down in the wooded areas and wait the season out.....

Them.... me.... and 120+ pounds of feed..... ;)

I have nothing against those that hunt deer as long as it ends up on their dinner plates. Not just for the thrill of the kill and a head or antlers to mount. :thumbdown

I always thought hunting was part of man being part of nature. I would never consider killing any game animal if I did not intend to eat it. I have shot animals considered to be a nuisance simply to keep them from destroying my property. Otherwise I eat what I hunt.

And that's good, Fred. I have no problem with one filling a dinner plate.

Living in the country, there are all sorts of critters that venture here. We have a pond and that's a big draw for many critters, as well as flying sorts. The only nuisance we've had the past few years are muskrats. They hang out in the pond and dig holes and tunnels. One of our neighbors uses live traps and takes care of them for us. He releases them on state land. He has a huge pond on his 100 acres!

I can almost taste them now.

Sorry Red
No problem, Tom! So long as they aren't taken on my property... it's all good. ;)

Where i grew-up we had issues with beavers, muskrats & turtles in our ponds. My biggest issue with creatures at the moment is when the temperature gets cooler armadilloes tear up my yard. Occasionally I have to dispose of an opossom if they start fighting with my cats.

Bastard! Wish we could see deer from our window. Shouldn't complain, we see plenty of foxes and hedgehogs. :thumbup
Yummmyyyy..... Fox Fritters and Hedgehog Ribs..... :24:

.... did I mention the rabbits.... the turtles.... the geese..... the ducks..... the coyotes.... the snakes.... the mice..... oh my! :D
