MamaRaptor was in the backyard today and I was quick enough to get one shot off. She was going after something in the grass. Lizard? Snake? But she took off. I swear she knows when I'm catching her photo even when I'm in the house ;)

We have lot's of them up here, I love to watch them ride the breeze with so little effort. They are beautiful birds. You did good to get such a nice picture.

We love them... Love that they find our yard pleasing...

Thanks Fred. I wish it was brighter. But, it's fairly clear which is the hardest part to get w/them.. The picture in my signature is one of the best ones I was lucky enough to catch.

Moonie mummas familiar:D

I only see owls at night here

I wish I could catch the owls. We only hear them in the trees. We've seen one sitting on top of the boat top once. But trying to catch them w/the camera in the dark is freaking impossible....... :( hehehehehehehe....... that black, blurry blob in that black photograph is her. :24:

D'oh its a hawk. (puts glasses on) Yep, Not many owls with a hooked beak like that one.

I see Sea Hawks here. I love to watch them floating in mid air above the ocean, then going in for the kill when they see a fish.

Actually, once when we were staying on the 18th floor of a high rise on the GOld Coast, one flew past with a huge fish in its mouth.:thumbup

Wiish i'd had the camera for that one.

I tried to lighten up a little for detail but this is the best I could do without washing it out.

I have never seen an Owl in the wild. I got excited once when I saw one on a dock. Only to smack myself in the head when I realized it not only was in the middle of the day but the damn thing was plastic:willy_nilly::(

Thanks Jim.. Cammie, I don't think I've seen a "Sea Hawk".

Here's probably the best shot I have of her. It's the one on my website & sig. Look at them claws! She's all poufy from the AutumnBreeze:

Speaking of Hawks & Owls together, here's our Hawk owning the plastic Owl we have on the boat:

Lovely picture of your hawk gunning for something :)

Thank you!

we have Ospreys too

and sea EAGLES not sea hawks (i'm very blonde today, bloody Monday mornings)

We have eagles across the lake. I have yet to get a clear shot of them. At all. It rather sucks.

That is a fantastic pic :thumbup

Thank you. I was really, really lucky that day.
