Ok...I admit, I'm kinda looking forward to NFL season. :)

Which team do you think has the greatest potential to go all the way? Which team has the potential to end up 0-16? Will any team go undefeated?

Buffalo Bills
Carolina Panthers
Chicago Bears
Cincinnati Bengals
Cleveland Browns
Dallas Cowboys
Denver Broncos
Detroit Lions
Green Bay Packers
Houston Texans
Indianapolis Colts
Jacksonville Jaguars
Kansas City Chiefs
Miami Dolphins
Minnesota Vikings
New England Patriots
New Orleans Saints
New York Giants
New York Jets
Oakland Raiders
Philadelphia Eagles
Pittsburgh Steelers
San Diego Chargers
San Francisco 49ers

No idea but I kind of go for the Giants if I can keep myself awake long enough to watch this half pissed at 3 in the morning.

Probably why the Yanks have never really got into real football. ;) Oh wait, you got the world cup and top players in your own league... guess you cant cope with a game unless you are the only ones who play it. ;)

:D:D

I think in a few more generations, soccer will make serious inroads in our viewing habits as far as soccer! There are way too many generations who didn't play it, which I think is a key element in following a sport, for great viewership or a broad fan base.

I'm driving around town lately and every school has at least one football team practicing on it at night. Sometimes more. It's in our culture from the time the boys are 6 up.

But on Saturdays, the AYSO fields are teeming with families. i speak from experience. As I said, I think in a few more generations....????:)

I hope you're right. The USA womens team is the best in the world and the mens team got to the Semi finals. You also hosted the World Cup and had Pele, the worlds greatest player ever in your league. That didn't catch the interest so I'm doubtful that a past it England player who wears a skirt will help much. ;) Hope it does catch in though! :thumbup

Well, see, the fact our womens' team is so good speaks to the issue of the need for U.S. males to play in order for soccer to gain further interest and viewership. Womens' sport get zero respect here as far as TV coverage, but girls are into it in a big way because we can't play in the NFL. So little girls, unable to put on the pads or throw a baseball, play soccer in greater numbers, later in their life, than the boys do.

As far as the skirt wearing Becks (I presume that's who you are talking about), nah, I don't think he's helping much with the bloodlusting NFL crowd. ;)

We'll have to see! :)

Probably the biggest problem. USA view it as a girls sport the same as Britain and most of the world see rounders (Baseball) as a girls sport. ;)

Seems to be a lot of that Pats 0-16 prediction going round! :)

EDIT: Let me join you! :) JK....:D

:24::24::24: Is that the equivalent?

I suppose our equivalent of American football is rugby, no protection and you have to run around for 80 minutes, would love to see a series of rugby players v American football players. American football players have the brute strength but so do rugby players with a lot more stamina, you dont see a rugby player needing oxygen after running 100 yards. Would be great to see!
