I think I figured out why I don't like a LOT of country

Especially today's country music. Okay growing up all my aunt listened to was country music so I know a little bit of 70s & 80s country music. Country music was about branding yourself a redneck back then. It's kind of like what hip hop has become, but instead of proclaiming ones gangsterness (yes i know i listen to it and im not gangster but thats not the point im making), they're proclaiming they're countryness all the time. :ninja


Yeh I'm tired and can't sleep and for some reason had Reba in my head...

I love good country music... like Amarillo Sky and These Are My People.... I can't sing out louder to any other songs!

If your not a country person... you don't really understand a lot of what they are saying so of course your not going to like it, or think of it this way. They aren't 'proclaiming' their countriness to talk about riding their tractor on the freeway while everyone flips them off, they are laughing at in a song and sharing it with other people who do the same things. If you don't do the same things, your just not going to like it.

I'm a little bit country.... I'm a little bit rock 'n roll.... then there's the hard rock, classic rock, hip hop and R&B, rap, oldies, etc.

I like lots of different types of music. It depends on the message and the style and whether or not I can understand the words coming out of their mouth(s).... and mainly what mood I'm in.

My problem with country music is that except for Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley they are un-talented hacks who cant sing. Its dreadful to listen to.

lol my friends would freak if we were within 3 miles of Rodney Atkins.... The lyrics matter more to us then the singing and I think he is pretty good at both.
