Blockbuster must be hurt'n. I saw the $1 a day sign on my neighborhood BB and thought it was some kind of a subscription. Turns out if you rent a movie, instead of the old $4.99 for 5 days, you can now rent a movie for $1 plus tax as long as you get it back before store closing the next day. That is a sweet deal. I've currently have a $9 per month, by mail BB subscription I'll probably cancel now.

The first Red Box movie I rented was in such bad shape it would not play- Bleh! The problem there is that customers are returning disks back to the machine to be rented again with no managerial oversight (that I am aware of).

I've rented over a dozen movies from the Red Box, and never had a problem :dunno
