Not true in these parts as far as I am aware. Lot of girls play soccer here. My daughters club team about 5 years ago went to Britain to play. I forget which place they played at. One of the bigger venues.

I never liked soccer before she played. But my wife got our oldest daughter into it and I quickly learned to like the game. She got royally fucked though by the High School coach who cut her from the team her senior year. Our school has one of the best teams in the state normally and it is tough to make varsity. One unwritten rule though is that if you are Varsity when a junior then you are on the team as a senior. She had been called up to varsity at the end of her junior year. During tryouts she was sick with strep throat. The bastard said not to worry and then said she did not improve enough. Spent a lot of money on her partly because it was fun but also to have a shot at a scholarship. If she had gone to one of the schools her friends went to she would have started on a State Champ team in a different division. She was better than 2 of those girls who played at that school.

Ah, sorry to hear that but glad your daughter has an interest in a good sport. :D;) Bet it's considered more of a girls game where you are though. Bit like how Rounders (Baseball) is a girls game over here. ;)
