canidae you are correct. I put the wrong name in the shot. I took the shot in August of 2008 and the US Navy had already retired the F-14. Silly me. Sorry about that and I'm glad you caught it.

I'll post some more aircraft stuff down the road. Today I think it will be some scenery type stuff when I get the time.

RedRyder I kept them at the same size but have reduced the quality quite a bit to keep the file size small. Does that work better for you? I hope so.

Just a swamp area I like to visit to get bird shots.

Bridal Veil Falls. Located about 1 hr. east of Vancouver. It's a hell of a walk to get to.

Mountains shrouded in clouds. This is a color shot btw.

And the trouble with loading is when there are many pictures in one post or many on one page in several posts.

These ones came up slowly but surely and it wasn't a bad wait. Plus it was well worth it!

Beats me what kind. I like flowers but don't know a lot about them.

BTW.... Whatever you are doing to size these pics.... All of them loaded quite nicely including the scenery ones on this same page! Now that's cool!

To answer your question... Initially I posted them in the 800kb range. Much to large for dial-up as you said. The ones I posted today are in the 100 -200 kb range so they load faster for you. The unfortunate trade off is the quality diminishes as the size decreases. Such be life...

There is no big trade off from what I can see.

I would suggest if anybody wants a better one quality one they should ask you to PM them one.

Those were all taken by my 100 - 400mm IS. It's amazing how close a person can get to them sometimes. If they are just sitting in a tree doing what eagles do many times you can get very close if you walk slowly and don't make any sudden moves. The problem is they are usually sitting very high up so you have to back up to get the shot. Those ones were cropped quite a bit.
