I have a REAL guitar to play, but I absolutely suck at it so I occupy my time playing a game, partially because I can't afford guitar lessons.

Besides that, really... whats the difference?

Playing a real guitar vs playing a simulation.

It's kind of like playing Gran Turismo vs driving my car. I'd rather drive my car, but I can't exactly race it without being killed/arrested/ticketed, so I'm taking the cheaper and safer alternative of playing a driving game.

What I've always found hilarious is people insulting me for playing games while sitting on their ass in front of their computer instead of getting up and going to do more productive things on their own. :)

UUmmm, I wasn't criticizing... don't get so damn offensive. Besides, the difference between playing Guitar Hero and a REAL guitar?? Let's see... from when I last played GH1, there were what, 6 buttons and a "whammy" kinda thing in the middle??? So that's about 6 different notes? Color coded? On a guitar there are six STRINGs with 24 frets. That's a helluva lot more notes than a play guitar from GH. Plus you can tune a REAL guitar different ways and get more notes and different sounds. I have a real guitar and can play pretty decent... I play as a hobby and I like it.... for me, to buy guitar hero wouldn't be worth my $$. Not saying it's not fun, it is, I just don't care to buy it.

I wasn't talking to you specifically, I was stating that I've taken a shit load of crap from everyone on here for playing this so much.

a. I never said that Playing a REAL guitar and playing this game was one in the same.

b. I never said that you can tune and get different sounds. I don't care. The guitar sound is tuned by the game for the song you're playing.

c. When you can pick up a real guitar the very first time and play it as well as you can when you pick up a GH guitar for the very first time, give me a call.

d. Congrats on your hobby. Does it really make it any better than my hobby?

My Hobby: Play a lot of GHII/III, get curious about my real guitar, pick it up and learn how to strum a few chords, is that alright by you? I've had my real guitar for 3 months and I can't afford any lessons, a PERSON sitting next to me pointing out how to read and learn on tablature would do me a TON of good on learning how to play it, but I can't do that yet, so I play the next best thing. A video game.

To answer your first question, AGAIN; Yes I have a REAL guitar. So does Alicia, probably a few others here as well.

Had you not started crap before, I would have taken your question as pure curiousity, but it sounded as if you're criticizing for playing a goddamn game.

Since you say you weren't, I apologize, but you have to understand how much shit I take for playing this goddamn addicting as hell game from, hell... just my brother let alone some of the people here (I know they were joking, so it's all good).

I never said playing a real guitar was just as easy as playing a GH guitar. Of course it's easier. But YOU are the one who asked what's the difference.

If you need help on learning Tab, I'd be more than happy to help you out. Free.

I was talking about the differences in picking up the guitar and actually being able to play something resembling a song.

Guitar learning time for me: I could PROBABLY learn a decent chord song in about 2 hours every night if I sit and practice knowing I'm doing it correctly.

GHII learning time: I was 5 starring songs on hard in less than a week.

But no thanks, I would need someone in the same room as me to learn.
