I was in the Marine Corps for 5 years as an Electronics Technician, I got out in July. I've been doing this job making prototype electronic cable assemblies since then, but I don't like it much. Plus, they just changed the benefits completely so it would be impossible to have Amber covered on my plan, so they can fuck off as far as I'm concerned.
 
Yeah that morning I went out to work and was a public holiday was the weirdest shit. I recall on my way to work saying to myself...how the hell it so quiet?...hardly any cars on the road. Said to myself...self, this kinda strange. But say ok what da heck and continued.

Could tell you one thing. When I realised was a public holiday I was a happy camper. Hightailed it home like was nobody business and enjoyed my time off. Gave them the story next work day and everybody laugh at me. :24:

Riiiiiight. Thought I remembered was something to do with the military before. And then you got into private sector. Your area of expertise is pretty good tho. Shouldn't be difficult to get something to your liking. Hope the interview goes well. Keep us updated.

There's not a lot of tech jobs in this area at all though :( And *somebody* I'm married to doesn't wanna move to where the jobs are :mad

hmmm, caught in a dilemma there huh? Not easy to uproot yourself tho 'specially when comfortable or familiar with where you live or if family is involved.....Unless is for some exorbitant amount of money.....like.....

That's the thing though, I'm used to uprooting and moving every year or so. It's what I've been doing since I graduated HS. There's a job I'd love to have about 3 hours south of here. Plus, I'd be closer to my family. But *someone* won't consider moving, so I can't even go to the interview to find out how much it pays to even see if it's worth moving for...

Man, its a shitty situation. He wants to talk to me this evening. Im down to talk, but if its an apology he's looking for, then he'll have to wait till Im dead and pry it out of my cold dead body.
