Local photographer gets sent to cover a smalltown bridal pageant.

While he's there, he snaps the shot below.

Editor of local paper uses it for front page.

Pageant owner throws a tantrum because the competition ,and it's winner, were not given priority as news. Much jumping on the band wagon by the anti-liquor wowsers.

So is it the job of a news photographer to record reality, or are they just there to point and click at whatever they're told to?

The above seems to be a good case of "shock journalism" Put up a pic like that and sell more papers.

I think it does the public a disservice. The world would be a better place if media would unbiased news reporters, just the facts... and let this kind of crap to the entertainment business.

Hell, where does one go for serious news anymore?
