I've had a phenomenal experience with iBuyPower.com, but a friend of mine recently had a terrible time dealing with their costumer service department when he ordered a custom-made rig that seemed to have some sort of weird graphic card error upon initial boot-up. He insists that the employee he was in contact with kept blaming him for doing something wrong and messing with the drivers, and it wasn't until he argued with a different service representative that he was able to send the computer back for "inspection". Now, they did return his custom rig after several weeks, and his system currently runs perfectly, but he swears up and down that he's never dealt with such an incompetent company.

Personally, I think he might be exaggerating, but now I'm worried iBuyPower has somehow become lax in their costumer service department since my purchase over a year ago. For me, their work and communication had been excellent, and I was hoping to return to them in the future, but I was wondering if anyone here has any personal stories about them to ease my mind. Are they no longer as good as they use to be, or is my friend a big, fat phony?

Just buy your own computer parts and build them yourself, or have someone build it for you. Even iBuyPower charges more money in the total pricing when you compare an exact system on their website to the exact same parts that you would buy yourself.

Chances are he may have been rude or just gotten a bad customer service representative, for every unhappy customer there are 5 happy ones, you just never hear about them because they're happy with their purchase. Don't worry about it, take care of your computer so you won't need to worry about it breaking down earlier than it might otherwise and if you're unsure about them then maybe try a different brand next time.

Oh.. it's these guys. They have absolutely terrible support. Had to go through 3 people before I could find someone who knew what they were talking about and even then it took a few days for my order to be shipped (the system got bugged somehow, it wasn't getting my order right :\)

I definitely don't recommend these guys, go get some parts from amazon or newegg and build it for much cheaper.

Yeah, I've been toying with the idea of just building the dang thing myself when my next big computer project comes around. Thank you all for the feedback, by the way. I appreciate it!
