HP Pavilion DV9700t (I think)

Intel Core 2 Duo at 2.5GHz
Nvidia 8600
4GB of RAM
250 GB HD (got the smaller but faster drive)
And a nice 1680x1050 display which is getting light spots and pissing me off.

I hate windows

What makes mac OS so much better?

Some reasons I like Windows/PCs better:

-I like to play video games

-I like to be able to build my own PC

-Much easier to upgrade a PC

-Windows is much more incorporated with the business of today

-PCs don't cost an arm and a leg (for what I would pay for an low-end mac, i can get a higher-end PC

Laptop Specifications:
Operating System: Ubuntu 8.10 (Primary) | Windows XP3
Motherboard: Compaq Evo n610c motherboard
Processor: "Mobile Intel Pentium 4 M" 1.8 GHz / 400 MHz FSB
Memory: 1024 MiB (Maximum supported by the system)
Graphics: 32 MiB ATI Radeon 7500 Mobility
Hard Drive: 20 GB Hitachi 5400/4200 (Unknown) IDE (Never upgraded)
Optical Drive: Removed, use an external burner, when I absolutely need to
Battery(ies): Removed, I always use the AC Adapter

Note: I upgraded the memory from 256 MiB to 1024 MiB myself (not difficult on a laptop whose memory banks are located under the left hand palm rest!).
Note: I could upgrade the processor (nearly unheard of with laptops) to a 2.4 or 2.6 GHz version.

I mainly use the laptop for work/school purposes, because of the graphics card.

I am looking for a desktop motherboard that supports the Mobile Intel Pentium 4 M, because I have a parts Evo n620c that a friend gave me, just in case something goes kaput with this n610c. However, locating a desktop motherboard that supports Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology (EIST) is proving quite difficult.
