Disaster/end of the world type movies. Stuff like...

Dante's Peak
Volcano
Armageddon
Deep Impact
The Core
2012
The Day After Tomorrow
Twister

Or Alien stuff like Independence Day, Signs, Battle: Los Angeles, Skyline, etc.

But they need to be good movies... with decent science to go along with them for once. But then again, they're still enjoyable (for me anyway) even with bad science. :24:

Who else is with me? Who wants more end of the world disasters in the movie theatres? :D

I think one movie you are missing (maybe because it didn't cause much of a violent theme) Contact. that played with the mind....that and Close encounters too

Im not really into the alien type movies, but I do like the end of the world type films.

Armageddon was a great movie.

The Day After Tomorrow was ok. A bit far fetched though.

Twister, its been awhile but I think I liked it. lol

never seen any of the others you posted.

I am but 2012 sucked as far as realism..

But I prefer the Independence Day / Alien type movies. Give me a good Alien with a bad or quirky sense of humor any day..

But you do enough of one type of film and it needs a rest, otherwise they all start to repeat themselves. There are only so many ways you can destroy the earth after all.

I like disaster movies to a point but I bet they get even harder to do, the more that people know about what is realistic! The more sceptical we get the harder it is to entertain us :p

From these movies Volcano, Armageddon, 2012, Twist are the best movies and are very interesting to watch. These are some of my favorite movies and would like to watch it again and again.

Ooooh i love Armegeddon, seen it a million times its one of my faves.

I agree with you though all these touchy feeling endings make people think that no matter what happens its all gonna be ok and its a little false advertising :24:
