To heck with that. I want a hydrogen powered car.

I hate to tell you, but I do not think Hydrogen is the answer. The production of Hydrogen is very energy intense, believe it or not.

Solar, Electric, Solar-Electric, that is the best long term solution for now.

But solar doesn't seem very practical and plugging in your hybrid eclectic will draw it's energy from oil and coal burning power plants anyways.

AhHa!

However, it is possible, and probable that you can charge your car via. solar panels.

That's what I want to do eventually;)

It's all about thinking outside the box:D

But how long would that take to do? If it takes hours to charge your car up then it won't be very useful.

What I have seen is you can potentially go from dead to full charge on the full electrics with Lithium Ion batteries in about 3-4 hours. That's on a FULL electric car, not electric hybrid. Even so, with the storage potential available with solar kit's you can make it work.

That is the key, the battery that is used. The Lithium Ion battery is an expensive up-grade, but Tesla Motors says they are good for 100,000 miles. That's good life if you ask me.

So the key is in the battery, Lithium Ion batteries are faster charging, and hold a better charge as well.

You are destroying my dreams of a hydrogen based economy. :p
I guess I should not complain because any working idea that means freedom from oil is a good one.
