FOXNews.com - Pentagon: Children Used in Iraqi Homicide Bombing - International News | News of the World | Middle East News | Europe News

WASHINGTON — Iraqi insurgents appear to have adopted a new tactic since the start of a security crackdown in Baghdad, using children in a suicide attack on Sunday, a senior Pentagon official said Tuesday.
Maj. Gen. Micahael Barbero, deputy director for regional operations on the Joint Staff, told reporters that a vehicle was waved through a U.S. military checkpoint because two children were visible in the back seat.
"Children in the back seat lowered suspicion, (so) we let it move through, they parked the vehicle, the adults run out and detonate it with the children in the back," Barbero said.
"The brutality and ruthless nature of this enemy hasn't changed."
Other officials said later that three Iraqi bystanders were killed in the attack near a marketplace in the northern Baghdad neighborhood of al-Adamiyah, in addition to the two children, and seven people were injured.
The officials had no other details, including the estimated ages of the children.
Barbero said this was the first reported use of children in a homicide car bombing in Baghdad.

That would be a biological attack. A dirty bomb refers to the dispersal of radiololgical material dispersed by way of conventional explosives. It's a way of speading deadly radioactive material, not biological agents.

Uhm, wow. Using kids to kill people. That's a new low. Jeez, if our excuse for not bombing the shit out of them before was because of the "innocent" women and children, I guess that's one less reason to not bomb them

Seriously, if the "innocent" children love us that much, why not just get our men out of there and show them what we did when Japan(or Hiroshima, whatever) tried to fuck with us. I think they would leave us alone, don't you?

Jihadist Cowards Using Kids

This ugly news out of Iraq this morning: Jihadist car bombers are now putting kids in their cars to cause decent U.S. soldiers to lower their guard. One such vehicle got through a checkpoint in Baghdad this past weekend. The bombers then abandoned the car in a marketplace with two children in it and detonated the bomb, killing the kids and bystanders.
These murderers will run the Middle East if the U.S. loses our resolve.

There will be outrage on Capitol Hill today – outrage from liberal Democrats that the president fired eight U.S. attorneys that he hired, outrage from Al Gore that global temperatures may go up one degree in 50 years, outrage from the ACLU that some prisoner at Gitmo didn’t get his hour of daily exercise.

What there won’t be is outrage about a jihadist enemy that has demonstrated over and over again that it will stop at nothing – from intentionally killing children to planning a second Holocaust – as it pushes toward its goal of building a new Islamic caliphate.

Don't any of you find it ironic that you people say it's horrible that they use innocent children in a car bomb, yet in the very next breath they say we should nuke the place and turn it into a parking lot?

What about the children will turn into pavement? It's ok for us to kill them, yet horrible when they do?

What they did (if true) is unexcusable under ALL conditions, even if it comes in the form of a nuke.

did you read my suggestion tim? about the vaccination thing? do you think that would work?

To Vaccinate the innocent, you would first need to identify who is and who isn't innocent. If we could do that, we would be out of there already. We would have gone to each and every home in Iraq, knocked on the door and locked up the quilty people. End of conflict...

I have a simple soulution to the problems over there...
Why doesn't our government stop training and funding the very people that are killing our soilders?

I agree with Tim here. Nuking a load of people because of this seems very simple minded. Do you really think we could determine who is innocent and who isn't? Solutions like what you are suggesting would just make us as bad as them!

I ran into this problem when I was in Afghanistan a couple of years ago. Our sense of humor here in America can sometimes boarder on the dark side, but if you gave Ali the button, I doubt she would actually press it.

This country is run by the people (though less every day). If Americans truely wanted to drop the bomb, and damn the torpedoes, we would do it. I haven't made the nuke comment since I had a Canadian reporter look at me and ask me when would Americans like to see the bomb dropped. :yuk
