Yabbies

My cousin got back from Tamworth Yesterday after a few days away and she brought me home some Yabbies!!!

Two reasons i love Yabbies,
1. They taste heavenly
2. when you throw em in a pot of boiled water with balsamic they screech!! :nod:

Had to share they were the bestest and i want more... cant get em in these parts though

We call them Yabbies.... small like a prawn almost but can get to a bigger size.... good eatin either way

Every year they have a crawfish festival here. Love to go there and pig out. In Louisiana I think the festival lasts all year.

Get them in my river, fished them out many a time but I've yet to eat them. I used to work for Lady Gibberd. She had a load in her river but she didn't want to eat them. Then she found out they were the introduced American ones and was all for me catching a few and having them for our lunch!:24:
Unfortunately she died a couple of weeks after that so I never got the chance.
