Kind of a spin off from Sadie's thread:

How many members, specifically women, would hesitate before pulling over for a cop on a deserted stretch of highway?

They told us in highschool what to do if this happened... call the dispatcher for the police station... tell them to/tell the cop tailing/flashing yyou that you will pulll over once in a well lit/populated spot.

Also serves to prove if its a real cop and if they tolf the office they are trying to pull you over. :D

What if you were aiming for a well-lit and populated area?
I don't think that excuse will fly. First chase I ever had was a girl in her early 20s that drove past 3 well lit, but not well populated, areas while being pulled over. When the officer called her dad he said "but that's what I always told her to do!" The officer said "well, sir, then you'd be going to jail too!!!" LOL

Yeah but if a guy is going to attack you the fact that an area is well-lit is not going to deter him as much if there's no one around. :dunno

Maybe we don't have the same level of issue with people impersonating cops over here? :dunno my first thought if I was being pulled over would be 'oh god what's wrong with my car? was I speeding?' not about whether they were actually up to no good.

But then to be fair, we have less of the 'desert highway' stuff going on over here. The worst you get where I live is out in the sticks, but even then you're never very far from a village or town.

Yeah, I'm in Ireland and this pretty much ^^

I've never heard of this happening before here and we don't have any desert highways as far as I know! So yeah I'd pull over straight away

Point taken. BUT if there's a Crown Vic (or Dodge Charger, or whatever your patrol division uses) w/ flashing blue and red lights behind you and a man or woman in blue (or green or beige) polyester driving it, I'd probably go ahead and stop. LOL

I'm with Tasha on this. Unmarked cars don't make stops here unless they absolutely have to, like emergencies. Otherwise it's the patrol cars. I've never heard of this story happening in SD so it really wouldn't bother me if I was to be pulled over in a dark area.

LOL, I just thought of this. For those of us in Canada, it's illegal in most places to use your cell phone while driving. :p WE'RE ALL SCREWED!!!! :willy_nilly:
